    Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

I have offices in Wilmington, Delaware, and Swarthmore, PA.

Do you take insurance?

Yes, at my Wilmington Office. In Swarthmore I have a sliding scale.

Do you see children?

Yes, I specialize in seeing children and their families. I work with childen as young as 2 years old if their families are willing to participate.

What is your average fee?

I charge between $80 and $120 depending on insurance, income, and case characteristics.

Do you have evening hours

Yes, but they are often filled. You might need to wait, but I see clients 3 nights a week until 8:30 PM.

What are your specialities?

Family therapy, biofeedback, medication alternatives, meditation, MBSR

How is your therapy different from your meditation training?

Meditation training requires daily practice of 30 to 45 minutes and is more suitable for clients that are functioning well enough to be able to sit still for that duration. Meditation training is more likely to produce lasting relief from anxiety and depression, but will not help negative family dynamics.

How much experience do you have?

I have been seeing children and families since 1982. Between 1987 and 2005 I saw treatment resistant, low income families. I developed strategies that were effective with these families, and am finding that they work even better with clients who have more resources.

How much do you know about meditation?

Not enough, but I began my Zen training in 1972 with Richard Aiken in Hawaii and I have been practicing ever since.

What are your classes like?

I strive to offer classes that will give my clients an opportunity for group interaction and for learning skills that are usually not offered in a standard psychotherapeutic practice. I use a team-oriented, experiential format to help each person find their own core of spirituality. I am interested in individual experiences of transcendence. I do not ask anyone to view the world as I do.

Can I join your forum?

Yes, my forum is for clients to interact with each other and with me. However, I cannot accept responsibility for communications that are not of your liking. There is only minimal moderation. Do not give out confidential information.

Can you help me?

Probably, if you come regularly and want to change.
